An old city with a long history in Changde City, Hunan Province, has experienced seven battles that destroyed the city and was rebuilt seven times. The Old West Gate carries rich historical significance.
After renovation, Old Ximen is noisy, complicated, dense, full and complex, and Zhijian·Bai, located in it, has left a place for people to think quietly with its use of large white blocks and simple space design. .
20 meters away from the front square of the bookstore, the ruins of a Changde battle bunker are preserved. It is a pure concrete structure. The bookstore also adopts a concrete building appearance without any exterior wall decoration, echoing the ruins; a large area of frameless glass is used on the first floor, blocking the space but not blocking the flow of sunlight.
The "white" that this restaurant in Changde wants to display is white as the background tone of the space. It is the purity of the concrete exterior wall without any decoration. It is also a blank space, leaving imagination and thinking for people who walk in. place.
Regional culture and historical memory run through the design of the entire bookstore. The overhead downlights add to the soft atmosphere of the space. We can all find book lovers here to immerse themselves in the world of books.
The coffee area is thoughtfully set up on the second floor. You can sip a cup of coffee, listen to soothing music, and read your favorite books along with the aroma of coffee. In the meantime, you can open a feast for the senses.
The cellar house, a traditional local residential building form in Changde, has been improved. The ceilings on the first floor and the first floor have been made into square bucket shapes to facilitate interaction between floors.
The preserved patio can be used to absorb sunlight and space. The creative team ingeniously made it with frosted translucent glass tilesThe white tile waterfall device, combined with green plants, not only allows for lighting, but also reminds people of the scene of reading while listening to the rain.
